Vietnam backs resumption of Iran nuclear deal negotiations

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese diplomat to the United Nations on December 14 voiced Vietnam’s support for diplomatic efforts to promote negotiations and return to the Iran nuclear deal, at a UN Security Council debate on implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (PCPOA).

Vietnam backs the non-proliferation and disarmament of nuclear weapons, as well as the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy as stipulated in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which will be reviewed in the coming time, said Ambassador Nguyen Hai Anh, Chargé d’affaires to the UN.

Hai called on relevant parties to strictly and fully implement the JCPOA and UN Security Council Resolution 2231, exercise restraint and avoid actions that can erode trust and heighten tensions, and focus on dialogues to resolve differences.

Vietnam welcomes and is willing to contribute to efforts to create a favourable environment for dialogue and cooperation at international forums, including the UN Security Council and the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of which Vietnam is a member, for the sake of peace, stability and development in the Middle East and the rest of the world, stressed the Vietnamese diplomat.
