Vietnamese people living abroad in general and in Cambodia in particular are an inseparable part of the nation, affirmed Huynh Dam, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.

During a meeting with overseas Vietnamese in Phnom Penh on November 29, VFF President Huynh Dam highlighted efforts made by the Vietnamese community in Cambodia in strengthening solidarity and mutual assistance. Despite difficulties, they have preserved Vietnam’s cultural identity, contributing to building and developing the country of residence, he said.

Mr Dam also spoke highly of their active fundraising for flood victims in the homeland and wished that they would continue upholding the tradition of solidarity and friendship with Cambodia.

Mr Dam said Vietnam and Cambodia stood side by side during the past resistance wars and were set to strengthen their ties of solidarity and friendship in the cause of national construction.

On the occasion, the VFF Central Committee presented gifts to the Vietnamese – Khmer Association and VND30 million to some Vietnamese families under difficult circumstances in Phnom Penh.
