The fair’s opening day on September 8 saw a number of British firms express their desire to co-operation with their Vietnamese counterparts and serve as a distribution channel for them within the UK.

A delegation of 20 businesses from HCM City showcased their handicraft products, including decorative items made from bamboo, models of wooden boats, jewelries, ceramics, leather products, embroidery bags, silk towels, cards, lacquered furniture, stuffed animals, and art models.

Taha Meziane, Top Drawer’s Sales Director, highlighted the excellent quality of Vietnamese products on display at the fair, before stating that this quality will serve to help Vietnamese goods win the trust of British consumers in the near future.

While visiting the booths of Vietnamese firms during the fair, Tran Ngoc Anh, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, affirmed that the participation of domestic businesses in the trade show is a good opportunity for local products to make further inroads into the UK market.

A representative from the Investment & Trade Promotion Centre in Ho Chi Minh City said the occasion will be the first time that the city has provided support to participating local businesses, noting that a large number of guests have been able to gain a greater insight into the nation’s products.

Being the leading fair in the UK, Top Drawer aims to feature creative and unique products such as household appliances, gifts, fine arts, handicrafts, and greeting cards.

This year's trade fair is taking place at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London from September 8-10 with exhibitors mainly coming from European nations to showcase their products across 800 stalls.
