VOV.VN - The American Center, part of the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy, is a one-stop source of up-to-date information about all aspects of the United States, its people, and its policies.

It is open to the general public free of charge and welcomes visits by government officials, academics, journalists, students, and others interested in information about the US.

Books: The center houses about 4,000 book titles on a variety of subjects for adults, young adults, and children.

Periodicals: It also has a small collection of magazines and journals in hardcopies.

Audios/Videos: More than 500 CD/DVDs are available at the center on a wide range of fields such as English language teaching, documentaries, movies, TV series, soft skills training. CD/DVDs are for onsite use only.

Digital Library: It has an extensive eLibaryUSA providing access to a wide range of online databases, from which one can view millions of publications, scholarly journals, e-books, audio, video, and other multimedia content.

Reference: Staff at the center are available to assist in research project on the US, its people and its policies with information from online commercial databases, news agencies and wire services from around the world.

Events for the Public: Speaker programs, trainings, clubs practicing American English, debate and book discussion, MOOC courses, film shows, exhibitions and music performance are often organized for the general public free of charge.

Field Trips: The American Center welcomes groups of teachers, students, pupils or researchers. However, they ask to be contacted well in advance so they can organize a special program for the event.

Multimedia Facilities: Include nine computers (PCs and MACs) with Internet access,10 iPads and 12 portable DVD players along with CNN News channel with high-end wireless headphones.
