Experts' Groups meeting in Ho Chi Minh City in the framework of the second Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Senior Officials Meetings (SOM II) concluded their first day of discussion on May 22.

At the meeting of the Investment Experts' Group (IEG), representatives discussed results of the implementation of activities and initiatives put forward at the first APEC Senior Officials Meetings (SOM I) in Hanoi in February 2006.

They were updated with the results of the group's projects, including a workshop on sharing experience in attracting investment from multi-national corporations held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 19-20, and the sixth edition of the APEC Investment Guide Handbook.

The representatives also listened to reports on issues relating to investments under Regional Trade Agreements and Free Trade Agreements (RTAs/FTAs).
The IEG Meeting will last until May 23.
