Vietnam wins ‘World's Best Golf Destination 2021’ at eighth WGA

VOV.VN - The nation has been awarded the ‘World's Best Golf Destination 2021’ title at the eighth version of the World Golf Awards (WGA), which was recently held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

This is the second time that the country has received the prestigious prize, surpassing a range of strong rivals, including Dominica, Dubai, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, the United States, and Uruguay to ultimately win the title.

According to a representative from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the latest win marks a golden chance to push the development of sports tourism and promote Vietnamese tourism to travelers from around the world.

Furthermore, the 18-hole Ba Na Hills Golf Club located in the central province of Da Nang, designed by Sun Group and managed by IMG, also claimed the ‘Asia's Best Golf Destination 2021’ title at the World Golf Awards 2021.

Last year saw the Golf Club also secure two titles at the WGA 2020, including 'Asia's Best Golf Course' and 'Vietnam's Best Golf Course'.

Since launching back in 2014, the WGA has come to be regarded as the most prestigious awards programme in golf tourism.
