Seminar seeks to promote Vietnamese investment in Thailand

VOV.VN - Nakhon Phanom province of Thailand recently hosted a seminar to help enhance trade and investment relations between Thai agencies, representatives of Ha Tinh province, and Laotian enterprises.

The seminar provides an ideal venue for firms from Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos to promote linkages in potential fields such as trade, tourism, import, and export.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Ha Tinh and Thai firms was inked at the seminar, that covers a wide range of issue, from product packaging, medicine manufacturing and work clothing to rice paper making and seafood processing.

They also signed co-operation agreements relating to importing a number of machines, equipment, and technology for production lines.

At present, Thailand is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in ASEAN and is the ninth largest investor in the Vietnamese market, while the latter makes up the former’s second largest trading partner in ASEAN.

Participating business representatives pointed out that there remains plenty of room to further promote bilateral trade in fields such as agriculture, energy, logistics, finance, and investment, particularly as the two economies share similarities in terms of consumer culture and products and services.

At the event, enterprises from Ha Tinh introduced their products such as rice, pharmaceutical products, garments, seafood, sausages, cakes, and multi spring rolls.
