The Central Highlands Gong festival 2007, to be held in Dak Lak province from November 21-24, is a cultural event of national significance.

To prepare for the event, the Dak Lak provincial Department of Culture and Information has cooperated with local agencies and organizations. More than 10,000 leaflets have been distributed to villages and hamlets, and thousands of panels, posters and banners have been hung along the main roads in Buon Ma Thuot city, Buon Don and some other districts.

Dak Lak há printed 3,500 pamphlets about the gong festival. Radio the Voice of Vietnam’s bureau in the Central Highland region constantly updates preparations for the event through daily bulletins in six ethnic languages - Ede, Jorai, Bana, Sedang, K’ho and M’Nong.

Hoang Chuyen, vice director of the Dak Lak provincial Department of Culture and Information, said the province will spend VND500 million on the event, excluding commitments from donors.
