Four law students from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam have participated in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition held in  Washington D.C. from March 23-27.

Nguyen Ngoc Lan, Pham Van Trung, Pham Ba Viet and Tran Hoang Yen competed in four matches with their rivals from New Zealand, Mexico, Ukraine and the Philippines in the Preliminary Rounds. However, they failed to qualify for the Advanced Rounds.

The competition, the world’s largest of its kind, is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations concerning the most controversial and intriguing issues of international law. This year’s event attracted 102 teams from more than 80 countries and territories across the world.
