Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan has encouraged Vietnamese students studying in foreign countries to uphold the nation’s traditions to make a greater effort in their studies to contribute to the country’s development.
She made the statement on December 29 while receiving those students returning to the homeland to participate in the Overseas Students Festival on the occasion of the Lunar New Year Festival.

Mrs. Doan highly appreciated the great academic results and social activities they have achieved, as well as their efforts in introducing Vietnam’s culture, history and people to international friends. She affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State have always cared about youths and created favourable conditions for them to study and work.

During the festival, 47 outstanding students will meet with policy-makers and State managers on education and participate in other social and cultural programmes.
