Buddhist dignitaries and followers in Ho Chi Minh City have raised more than VND2.2 billion to support flood victims in central and Central Highland provinces.

The sum included VND135 million contributed by Vinh Nghiem pagoda on September 1.

 

The donation campaign was launched in response to calls by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

 

The Fatherland Front Central Committee's Ho Chi Minh City chapter has received more than VND9 billion and 2.4 tonnes of essential goods in donation for flood victims.

 

Of the figure, VND3.7 billion have been sent to the victims in Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Kon Tum and Tra Vinh provinces.
