The Government Office reviewed work in 2005 and discussed major tasks for 2006 at a meeting in Hanoi on January 19.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai highlighted the achievements of the Government Office in 2005, particularly in administrative reforms, denunciation and complaint settlement, and thrift practice and waste elimination.

In 2006, the office must continue to renovate its working style and abolish documents which hamper production and business operations in order to better serve people and enterprises.

The Prime Minister asked office staff and officials to raise their sense of responsibility, improve their working skills and promote creativity in activities. He also asked the office to master the recently approved Law on Thrift Practice and Waste Elimination to assist the Government and the Prime Minister to implement the law.

Also this year, the Government Office will focus its task on serving the Government and Prime Minister activities to fulfill set targets. In addition, it will enhance law-building activities, facilitate administrative reforms, and make detailed plans to rectify its working style.
