Vietnamese enters final round of Korean competition

Local cook Phan Ngoc Anh won first place at a Korean cooking contest held in Hanoi on June 30.

Anh surpassed nine other Vietnamese rivals with the bibimbap dish of mixed rice with meat and assorted vegetables.

Anh will travel to the Republic of Korea (RoK) to compete in the final round against competitors from 17 nations for a US$10,000 cash prize. The last round will be aired on the host country’s national television.

According to a representative of the competition’s organiser, it is the second time the cooking contest has been held with the aim of promoting food cultural exchange between the RoK and international friends.
