It took Vietnam's Nguyen Tien Minh less than half an hour to beat Malaysian Chun Seang Tan 23-21, 21-10 to advance to the third round of the Aviva Singapore Open on June 8.
The Vietnamese No.1 badminton player Tien Minh ranking 47th in the world was followed closely by his rival in the first set. However, Minh won so easily in the second set, when Tan seemed to lose power.
In the next round late the same day, Minh played host Ronald Susilo.
