Vietnam has intensified its anti-corruption campaigns by establishing a series of steering boards in charge of overseeing provincial and municipal administrations.

The move is one of the latest revisions to the Anti-Corruption Law at the first session of the 12^th National Assembly on August 4.

In another shift, corruption scandals will now be handled by the Justice Committee of the National Assembly instead of the Law Committee.

The anti-Corruption Law took effect on June 1, 2006 after being ratified at the 11th National Assembly's eighth session on November 29, 2005.
