Many localities throughout the country held diverse activities on February 26 to celebrate the 51st anniversary of Vitenam Physician Day (February 27).

The general hospital in Dak Nong province organised a contest to choose excellent nurses while medical centre No 6 in Gia Nghia township provided free health check-ups for thousands of poor people.

On the occasion, five medical stations, which meet national health standards, were put into operation by the provincial health department.

** In Ninh Binh province, the health sector organised various sports, cultural activities and a get-together for medical workers of different generations. The sector also reviewed the implementation of late President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings and launched emulation movements. The province now has 56 communes meeting national health standards.

** The same day, health establishments in Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh province organised activities to learn from 12 medical ethics and the exemplary model of doctor-martyr Dang Thuy Tram. The activities aim to heighten doctors’ responsibilities for patients in the province.

In recent years, doctors at the medical centre in Luong Tai district have always fulfilled their tasks of providing emergency aid and treatment to patients. Many individuals and collectives have been awarded and gained trust from local residents.
