The move followed a petition lodged by the Australian galvanised steel manufacturer BlueScope Steel on August 22, which sought an anti-dumping and countervailing duty notice in respect of the goods exported to Australia from India and Vietnam.

The period subject to investigation is from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 and the loss analysis will be conducted for the period from July 1, 2012.

Interested parties are invited to lodge submissions concerning the publication of the dumping or countervailing duty notice sought in the petition, no later than the close of business on November 13, 2016.

The insufficient, wrong or late submissions will affect their business or commercial interests.

The preliminary affirmative determination (PAD) will be made within 60 days after the initiation of the investigation.

A recommendation to the Parliamentary Secretary will be made in a report on or before March 11, 2017.

The Parliamentary Secretary must make a declaration within 30 days after receiving the report, or such longer period as it considers appropriate.
