Vietnam earned US$12.5 billion from agro-forestry and fishery exports in 2007, a year-on-year increase of 20.6 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Of the total figure, agro-forestry products brought in US$8.7 billion while the remainder came from the fisheries sector.

Most key export items accomplished rises in both volume and value, including coffee (1.2 million tonnes and US$1.86 billion, up 22 percent and 52 percent, respectively), rubber latex (719,000 tonnes and US$1.4 billion, up 2 percent and 9 percent), cashew nuts (153,000 tonnes and US$649 million, 20 percent and 29 percent) and tea (114,000 tonnes and US$131 million, 8 percent and 18 percent)
