VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia on February 15 hosted a year-end party for the Vietnamese expats living in Russia, seeing the attendance of embassy staff and Vietnamese community representatives.

In his speech at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh said 2017 saw many achievements of Vietnam in politics, external relations, and economics and extolled the contributions by the Vietnamese community in Russia to boosting the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Participants enjoyed Vietnamese traditional food and art performances in celebrations of the lunar New Year 2018.

The same day,  representatives from the Embassy, other offices and businesses of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese community in Cambodia offered incense and laid flowers at the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh on February 15 on the occasion of the lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

They paid tribute to Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who scarified their lives for Cambodia's struggle for national liberation. The sacrifice helped the country escape from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime which was seen as a contribution to consolidating and developing the special friendship and solidarity between the two people.

Le Ba Hung, a Vietnamese expat and Director of Chak Angre General Hospital in Phnom Penh, and several Vietnamese sponsors granted 20 sets of tables and chairs to a primary school for children of overseas Vietnamese, and Tet gifts to over 170 Vietnamese households living in difficulties in Cambodia.
