Ten Vietnamese seafood businesses have received licences from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Physio-Sanitary Surveillance (VPSS) to export their products to Russia.

The newly-licensed businesses brought the number of Vietnamese seafood exporters permitted to ship their products to Russia to 24.

Last September, VPSS sent a delegation to inspect Vietnamese seafood processors.

Russia is Vietnam’s fifth largest seafood importer after the European Union, the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The market accounted for 5.2 percent of Vietnam’s total seafood export turnover in first half of this year.
