Petrovietnam: 2021 mission accomplished ahead of schedule

The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has achieved many of its 2021 targets ahead of schedule, according to the Group’s regular meeting for December.

Despite numerous challenges including the reemergence of COVID-19 and falling crude oil prices and demand for gas consumption for power generation, Petrovietnam recorded an oil output of 9.97 million tonnes between January and November, surpassing its target for the entire year by 2.5%.

Notably, its target of producing 9.72 million tonnes of oil in 2021 was fulfilled 39 days ahead of schedule.

The production of fertilizers, petroleum, and other petroleum products is also expected to meet or exceed the set targets.

Petrovietnam also reported new oil and gas discovery at Soi Vang-1X well and put 3 more exploitation projects into operation.

In the 11-month period, the Group contributed VND84.7 trillion (US$3.67 billion) to the State budget. The amount surpasses this year’s plan by 36% and is up 27% against the same period last year.

Petrovietnam donated more than VND770 billion to the fight against COVID-19, including nearly VND455 billion to the national COVID-19 vaccine fund. It also donated 50 ambulances and 300 ventilators to the health sector.

In 2021, the Group was honored as one of 10 businesses meeting Vietnam’s business culture standards.

Petrovietnam General Director Le Manh Hung said that the Group will give it’s employees a booster against COVID-19 and COVID-19 drugs.
