At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi said in the context of global climate change, diminishing natural resources and environmental pollution, green and sustainable growth has become a common trend in many countries.  Using green technologies and materials, including glass, should be encouraged, he said.

Nghi said he hopes that the conference will help the AFGM will devise a joint action plan to achieve environmentally friendly lifestyles and climate change adaptation.

During the three-day conference, delegates will discuss technical solutions and applications for glass production as well as effective operational methods for the AFGM and its members to promote technological reforms and improve productivity, working conditions and product quality.

According to the AFGM, glass is considered an environmentally friendly material and products made from glass are durable, safe heat-resistant and soundproof.
