The HCM City Students’ Association and Japan’s International Volunteer Centre NIIGATA granted 45 scholarships worth JPY450,000 to poor students from universities and colleges in HCM City on September 1.

Awardees are disabled, orphaned and ethnic students who live in difficult circumstances but excel in their study.

The International Volunteer Centre NIIGATA is a Japanese non-profit organisation, which has funded many charity and social activities in Vietnam. Over the past ten years, the centre has presented 708 scholarships worth JPY 7.5 million to poor students nationwide.
