Get-together for OVs in China to welcome Tet

(VOV) - On February 14, the Vietnamese Embassy in China held a get-together for the overseas Vietnamese community to welcome the lunar New Year 2015. 

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho briefed participants of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in 2014 and said Vietnam always attaches high importance to developing its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. 
He added that bilateral ties continue to develop regardless numerous difficulties in 2014, citing the two-way trade turnover of more than US$ 60 billion, which is beyond the set target.

The Vietnamese diplomat said both sides consented to increase cooperation and maintain a peaceful relationship for mutual development through peaceful negotiations and international laws to settle remaining differences, including the East Sea issue.

The ambassador called on overseas Vietnamese in China to further contribute to Vietnam’s construction and development and consolidate the friendship between the two nations.
