Vietnam- Denmark parliamentary relationship

(VOV) -Vietnam is one of countries which have made best use of official development assistance (ODA), said Danish Parliament Chairman Mogens Lykketoft.

He made the statement at a meeting with visiting State President Truong Tan Sang on September 19.

The Danish Parliament Chairman highlighted Vietnam’s development achievements in recent years and welcomed President Sang’s visit to Denmark, which he said has opened a new chapter for the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation in the future.

President Sang thanked the Danish government and people for their valuable assistance to Vietnam’s development process.

He emphasized that Denmark’s ODA loans have contributed to improving the living conditions of Vietnamese people in rural and remote areas, as well as increasing the capacity of Vietnamese agencies in various fields, such as public governance, administrative reform, and climate change adaptation.

The two sides expressed their pleasure at the results of close cooperation in educational and judicial reform, public governance, human rights, anti-corruption, and capacity building.

While staying in Denmark, the Vietnamese State leader was scheduled to meet with Danish entrepreneurs and university leaders, and visit some economic establishments.
