Project Runway Vietnam begins third season

(VOV) - The preliminary round of reality television programme, Project Runway Vietnam, will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in mid-May.

In Ho Chi Minh City, it will take place at the Grand Palace on May 11. In Hanoi, the event is scheduled for May 15 at the Garden centre.

In this round, each contestant will present their designs to the judges. The best contestants will be selected to enter the semi-final.

During the semi-final round, contestants will directly compete in a common house where participants must compete in designing and then explain Question and Answers (Q&A) with the judges.

The first episode will be aired on VTV6 channel, starting July 2015.

After two seasons, the programme has found new faces who have greatly contributed to developing Vietnam’s fashion industry.

Winner of the first season of Project Runway Vietnam 2013, Hoang Minh Ha, has presented his latest collections in domestic and international fashion shows, including Tiffany Paris Fashion Week and Vietnam International Fashion Week.

Ha has been admitted to the Asian Couture Federation (AFC), after designer Cong Tri.

Project Runway 2014 Champion, Ly Giam Tien, has introduced his new couture collection at New York Fashion Week 2015. 

He was presented the Breakthrough of the Year 2014 award in honour of the designs he has brought to Vietnam’s fashion industry.

The award was presented at the Men of the Year awards, sponsored by The Thao, Van Hoa & Dan Ong (Sports, Culture & Men) magazine.
