HAGL beat Thanh Hoa 1-0 in V-League 2018
VOV.VN - Nguyen Cong Phuong’s solo strike led HAGL FC to triumph over Thanh Hoa FC in the tenth round of V-League 2018 on May 30.

| The match was played at Thanh Hoa’s home ground and saw many stars of the Vietnam U23 squad face off, including Xuan Truong, Cong Phuong (HAGL), and Bui Tien Dung (Thanh Hoa). |

| In the opening minutes of the match, Thanh Hoa piled on the pressure with repeated attacks on HAGL. In the 5th minute, Pape Omar of Thanh Hoa grazed the top of the bar with a shot that had beaten HAGL’s goalie, Van Tien. |

| However, the deadlock was broken by HAGL, not Thanh Hoa. In the 15th minute, Cong Phuong collected a pass from Rimario, before firing a rocket of a shot past Bui Tien Dung. |

| The goal was a turning point in the match. And as the home fans quieted down, in a small corner in the stadium, raucous cheers came from the 500 traveling supporters of the northern region’s HAGL FC as they lit flares to celebrate. |

| HAGL players including Xuan Truong, Cong Phuong, Minh Vuong, and Rimario all had chances to test goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, but failed to add to the score. |

| HAGL defender Kim Jinseo was injured after blocking a shot by Le Quoc Phuong. A few minutes later, he was forced to leave the ground. |

| Many supporters travelled more than 100km from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa for the match. With the 1-0 defeat of Thanh Hoa, HAGL climbed to the 4th position in the V-League table with 16 points after 10 matches. |
