Two members of the French parliament will arrive in Vietnam in January 16 to discuss bird flu prevention in Vietnam and the world with Vietnamese authorities and researchers.
Jean Marie Le Guen from Paris and Jean Pierre Door from Loiret will hold talks with officials from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the National Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute to learn Vietnam’s experiences in the fight against bird flu.
The visit follows a Hanoi visit by French Health Minister Xavier Bertrand on November 20, 2005. It takes place at a time the international community is preparing for an international financial conference in Beijing on January 19-20 to discuss bird flu prevention and control.
