Vietnamese dancer wins RoK’s award

Vietnamese modern dancer Nguyen Thanh Chung has won a prize of the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Dance Association in the Korea International Modern Dance Competition (KIMDC), which wrapped up in Seoul late last month.

In addition to Chung, the competition saw six other prizes presented to artists from the US, Spain, the RoK, China, Japan and Mexico.

Previously, several Vietnamese artists won prizes in the annual competition, which is designed to look for young modern dance talents over the world.

They included Khanh Chinh (bronze prize in 2011), Huu Thuan and Hai Anh (silver prize in 2012) and Thanh Phuong (choreographic prize in 2012).
