State President Nguyen Minh Triet arrived in Ulan-Bator on October 30, beginning an official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of President Nambaryn Enkhbayar.
Mr Triet was welcomed at the airport by Mongolian Foreign Minister Sukhgaatar Batbold, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country.
Later, President Triet and President Enkhbaya held talks on measures to promote the two countries’ friendship and cooperation, particularly in economics, trade and investment.
Currently, bilateral trade remains modest and the two countries aim to raise the value to US$10 million in 2010.
