Over 260 enterprises attend 20th Medi-pharm Expo in Ho Chi Minh City

The three-day event was jointly organised by the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City Medical Equipment Association.

On display across the 320 booths are a wide range of medical and pharmaceutical products and equipment from various regional and global markets.

The highlights of the event include the Bavarian pavilion by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the International Pavilion put on by Turkish enterprises.

In his opening speech, Hua Phu Doan, standing vice chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s Medical Equipment Association, emphasised that this year’s exhibition has been held on a larger and more diversified scale to create conditions for the Vietnamese business community to gain greater access to the latest technologies from various countries around the world.

Nguyen Dinh Anh, head of the Ministry of Health's Department of Communications, Emulation and Reward, described the exhibition as an ideal platform for local businesses to introduce a wide range of fresh products and keep up with relevant global market trends.

The expo has also created new opportunities to introduce Vietnamese policies in the medical and pharmaceutical industry to the business community both at home and abroad, Anh said.

Anh also underscored the importance of the event as it helps strengthen post-pandemic trade exchanges and promote the investment and transfer of cutting-edge technologies in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry and that of other countries.

At present, the local pharmaceutical industry is completing the legal procedures to facilitate the business production and ensure supply sources.
