Quang Ngai popularises potential to attract investors

The central province of Quang Ngai’s potential and strengths were nudged closer to foreign investors at a conference jointly held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the provincial People’s Committee in Hanoi on October 25.

With investment opportunities in the fields of trade, culture-tourism, agriculture and industry highlighted, the conference is expected to help Quang Ngai better integrate into the world, deepen international connectivity, and bolster practical collaboration with its partners.

At the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Van Minh laid a stress on the locality’s strengths which include strategic position in the Central Key Economic Region, well-developed transport infrastructure, dynamic economy, high-quality human resources, and huge tourism potential.
 
Quang Ngai has completed its planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, and a master plan to build Dung Quat Economic Zone by 2035 with a vision to 2045, he said, underlining that the Party Central Committee’s orientation to branch out a national petrochemical and energy centre at Dung Quat Economic Zone and build a sea and island tourism centre in Ly Son will bring new development opportunities for Quang Ngai and investors in the time ahead.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang expressed her firm belief that boasting huge potential and sound orientation from the local leaders, the province will get attention from international partners that turns it into a development centre not only of the central region but also the whole country.

The ministry will continue accompanying localities nationwide, including Quang Ngai, to carry out economic diplomacy with a view to promoting connectivity with foreign partners, expanding export markets, and luring foreign direct investment and official development assistance for local development across tourism, sea-based economy, logistics, trade and industry.

Representatives of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), the Hong Kong Business Association in Vietnam (HKBAV), the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), the Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, and the Korean-based Doosan Enerbility Vietnam Co.,Ltd presented their business and investment plans in Quang Ngai in the coming time.

Various issues related to insurance, labour and investment and business policies of Quang Ngai province were discussed among participants and representatives from the locality.

In the framework of the conference, an exhibition on Quang Ngai province was inaugurated, and memoranda of understanding between sides signed.
