Party leader meets APPF-26 delegation heads

VOV.VN - On January 19, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received the Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and delegation heads of the member parliaments attending the 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) in Hanoi.

Trong briefed the delegates on Vietnam’s reform, development orientations and foreign policy and reiterated the country's consistent policy of pursuing peace, independence, self-reliance, cooperation and development, and being a friend of all nations and a responsible member of the international community.

He also hailed the APPF-26 theme on parliamentary partnership for peace, innovation and sustainable development”, saying it signifies the priorities of the region, meeting the aspiration and benefits of the regional people.

The Party chief extended his thanks to the parliaments, governments and people of the regional nations for the support they have given to Vietnam over the past years. Vietnam wishes to continue reinforcing the friendship and cooperation with them all, he added.

The guests showed their delight at the effective cooperation with Vietnam over the past time, hoping for strengthened bilateral relations with Vietnam in the future.

They also extolled Vietnam’s economic achievements and people’s improved living conditions, and the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) as well as the country's higher standing in the international arena.
