Vietnam claims two golds at Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships

VOV.VN - Vietnamese martial artists competing in the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships overwhelmed strong foreign rivals, grabbing two golds and one bronze at the Bahrain National Stadium.

In the women’s 45 kg category reigning world champion 2021 Phung Thi Hue beat two opponents from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one from Thailand, clinching the first gold medal for Vietnam.

The second gold went to Duong Thi Thanh Minh in the women’s 53-kg category after three contests.

After two first losses in the 52-kg category, Vuong Vo Kim Thanh fell into a group of martial artists competing for a bronze medal, and the Vietnamese martial artist successfully outplayed four foreign rivals from Bahrain, Kazakhstan, and the UAE to claim the honour.

The Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships 2022 can be viewed as a warmup for the Vietnamese team ahead of the upcoming SEA Games 31, which Vietnam is due to host in May.

Ju-jitsu competitions are scheduled to take place on May 14 - 15 at the Dan Phuong Stadium in Hanoi.
