China's commerce ministry announced on September 13 that it has launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of US vehicles and chicken products.

Chinese economic analysts say that this move is aimed at curbing the US’s trade protectionism, but not get revenge for the US’s imposition of an extra duty on Chinese-made tyres.

Domestic producers had asked the Chinese government to counter unfair trade practices used to help import products in line with Chinese law and WTO regulations.
