Jujitsu fighters bring home medals

Vietnam made an impression at the World Jujitsu Championship, securing one silver and two bronze medals in an intensely competitive event held in Mongolia.

Phung Thi Hue clinched the silver medal in the women's fighting 45kg class. The Vietnamese was edged out of the top spot by Colombia's Daniela Nicolle Morales Urbano. France's Alexandra Humbert rounded out the podium in third place.

Dang Thi Huyen performed commendably in the women's 53kg class, earning a bronze medal. This division was led by the Republic of Korea's Im Eon Ju and Israel's Aronov Pnina.

In the performance category, Vietnamese pair Nguyen Ngoc Bich and Trinh Ke Duong came in third, surpassed only by teams from Thailand and Romania.

On the overall tally, the UAE emerged victorious, bagging eight golds, followed by Sweden and Thailand. Vietnam found their place at number 23.

In the opinion of coach Tran Van Thach, this tournament served as a critical assessment for Vietnamese athletes in preparation for forthcoming international events, including the much-anticipated Asian Games in China.
