First Festival Vietnam held in Belgium

(VOV) -Many Overseas Vietnamese have gathered in Eupen city, 150 km from Brussels, for the first Festival Vietnam.

The event opened on March 2 with a show featuring Vietnam’s popular tourist and historical sites, ao dai (traditional long dress) and culinary skills in different regions across Vietnam.

Participants from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands enjoyed an art performance by Overseas Vietnamese artists from France and tasted some special dishes including nem (spring rolls) and pho cuon (rolled rice pancakes).

Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Pham Sanh Chau said the festival was held by Le Ngoc Linh, a Belgian-Vietnamese citizen to promote Vietnam’s image and culture to international friends and strengthen solidarity among the Overseas Vietnamese communities.
