The trees normally enter full bloom between May and July with pedestrians and commuters easily able to spot their bright yellow colour on Nguyen Van Huyen and Lac Long Quan streets. The tree, with the scientific name of Cassia fistula, has an abundance of racemes which typically cascade down from the branches. Muong Hoang Yen helps to brighten a corner of Nguyen Van Huyen street. The Cassia fistula originates from Southern Asia and originally comes from southern Pakistan, before passing through India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and other Southeast Asian countries. In the nation it is also known as the Osaka flowers. The yellow flowers tend to grow in clusters with dozens of small, beautiful flowers and buds. The trees serve to beautify the streets of Hanoi with their brilliant yellow during the summer months. The trees can be seen loaded with hundreds of tiny yellow flowers. Golden shower trees can be spotted in their full glory at this time of year. The trees enter full bloom throughout West Lake in Hanoi. Although the beautiful flowers are short-lived, typically only about a month and a half, they will last until late July. The vivid yellow colour makes summer in the capital even more joyful.
