Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam-France co-operation relations

VOV.VN - A photo exhibition showcasing the co-operative ties between Vietnam and France opened on April 14 in Hanoi as part of the 12th Vietnam-France decentralised co-operation conference.

The photo exhibition brings together a total of 120 photos detailing the relationship between the two countries, as well as between Vietnamese and French localities in various fields.

The photos have been arranged in chronological order to mark the various stage of joint diplomatic ties.

Among them is a photo of President Tran Duc Luong and his wife paying an official friendship visit to France back in 2002, marking the first state visit to the European country made by a Vietnamese state leader since the two nations first established diplomatic ties in 1973.

The latest photo depicts National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue holding talks alongside President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher, who was paying an official visit to Vietnam on December 8 last year.

Later on the same day, the two leaders attended a ceremony to kick off events marking the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two sides.

On display are also some photos on co-operation activities between Vietnamese and French localities.

The event is a sidelines activity of the 12th Vietnam-France decentralised co-operation conference which is taking place from April 14 to April 16 in Hanoi with the aim of discussing ways to boost sustainability and create greater opportunities for business and cultural exchanges among localities of the two countries.
