The central province of Quang Nam said it has signed two agreements on investment and cooperation worth a combined US$360 million with the Republic of Korea’s firms.
The agreements were made in the framework of Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to the RoK from November 8-12.
Under the agreement between the provincial People’s Committee and the Columbus Development Company, the two sides will cooperate in a US$50 million project to construct an industrial park in Quang Nam.
The project, scheduled to be started next year, will cover an area of 1,000 ha in the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. It is expected to be put into operation by 2013.
According to the agreement between the Dat Quang Chu Lai Minerals JSC and Huyndai Welding Co., Ltd, which specialises in manufacturing welding products in the RoK, the former will provide rutile and titanium cinder to the latter from 2012-2014 and sell 20 percent stake valued at US$10 million to the latter.
