The Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian people, the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation with Asia, Africa and Latin America, and the Peace Committee of Vietnam jointly issued a statement on January 14 to affirm their solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The committees urged all concerned parties to end the use of force and demanded the immediate withdraw of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip.

All concerned parties should create every favourable condition for humanitarian organisations to carry out aid relief missions in the area, the committees said.

On this occasion, the committees sent their condolences and sympathy to the families of the Palestinian victims of Israel’s military attacks.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Government has decided to grant US$200,000 in emergency humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza.

The funds will be channeled via the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees in the Near East to be passed on to the Palestinians as soon as possible.
