High calibre field set for Biwase Cup 2015

(VOV) - Seventy of the top professional cyclists from Vietnam and three foreign teams will be on the start line on February 28 for the fifth International Women’s Cycling Tournament (Biwase Cup 2015) in Binh Duong province.

The three foreign teams that have registered to participate in the competition are-Thailand, Malaysia and Kazakhstan.

According to Doan Kim Phach Vietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation vice chairman, Vietnamese athletes will face some stiff competition from other athletes within the region, thereby raising the qualifications and professional experience of the team.

During the nine days of competition the athletes will compete in nine races of more than 700km travelling through seven provinces, a real challenge requiring a combination of endurance, speed and the ability to coordinate as a team.

Total cash prizes of VND200 million have been announced with the first place finisher to receive VND30 million and second and third place to get VND20 million and VND10 million, respectively.
