During a meeting with Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Le Hoang Quan on August 5, President Pascal Couchepin said that he has discovered new values of Vietnam’s land and people, especially its generation of young, intelligent people and its move toward modernisation.

The Swiss President added that Vietnam set many ambitious targets for development, which have proved correct and feasible.

Chairman Quan expressed his belief that President Couchepin’s visit will help develop comprehensive and deep relations between the two countries.
He asked the Swiss President to share experiences in solving challenges and difficulties in development and improving urban management.

The Swiss President also met with the Swiss community in Ho Chi Minh City and visited some cultural and trade sites in the economic hub.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and the Swiss Lausane University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in training and researching.
