A delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Office headed by Deputy Director Le Quang Vu left Panama City on October 14, concluding a two-week tour of Canada and Panama.

In Canada, the Vietnamese delegation was received by the Speaker of the House of Commons Peter Milliken, who highly valued Vietnam's achievements in the national renewal process and expressed his wish to further boost cooperation between legislative bodies of the two countries.

The delegation had working sessions with some senior Canadian MPs.

In Panama the Vietnamese delegation was received by President of the National Assembly Ellias Castillo, the General Secretary and directors of committees for foreign affairs, health and social insurance.

Ellias Castillo praised Vietnam's past struggle for national liberation and its current endeavours for national industrialisation and modernisation, describing it as a source of encouragement to Panama's struggle for national sovereignty and management of the Panama Canal to serve national development.

The Vietnamese MPs visited the Panama National Assembly Secretariat and local NA deputies' offices.
