The Vietnam-Cambodia Youth Meeting 2008 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on December 1 with the participation of 50 outstanding Cambodian delegates and 500 local people.
The event taking place after the Vietnam visits by Prime Minister Hun Sen and Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Chairman Samdech Chea Sim aimed to further consolidate solidarity and neighbourliness between the two nations.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Men Kuon, member of the CPP Central Committee, expressed his belief that the traditional solidarity between young people of the two countries will be maintained and further developed in future.
The meeting will run until December 3 in Ho Chi Minh City and continue to take place in southern Dong Nai province and the Central Highland resort city of Da Lat from December 4-7.
