The Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security on January 6 prosecuted three football players Chau Le Phuoc Vinh, Le Van Truong and Tran Hai Lam on the charges of gambling.

Initial results from the case of match-fixing and betting on some football players at the SEA Games 23 showed that Quoc Vuong was the leader of the Vietnam-Myanmar match-fixing scandal. Vuong had enticed Le Van Truong, Pham Van Quyen, Tran Hai Lam and Le Bat Hieu to get involved in gambling.

To date, seven players of the U23 football team have been prosecuted on the charges of gambling, four of whom - Van Quyen, Quoc Vuong, Quoc Anh and Bat Hieu - were already taken into custody.
