Children will compete in the first ever National U-10 Football Championship in May, organised by the Nhi Dong (Children) newspaper.
Teams will compete in three qualifying rounds in Thai Binh, Quang Binh and Tra Vinh, and the best will secure final round berths in Vung Tau City.
The Military Telecommunication Group (Viettel) is sponsoring this year's tournament. The best players from the event will be recruited by the Viettel Football Centre in Hanoi.
The tournaments for U-11, U-13 and underprivileged children have been held since 1997.
