The relics of the Thang Long royal citadel at 18 Hoang Dieu, Hanoi will be preserved as an important part of the Thang Long-Hanoi relics system, said Dr Nguyen Van Son, Director of the Centre for Preserving the Hanoi Ancient Citadel.
The information was released at the first session of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Committee of Experts on the Thang Long Royal Citadel on March 19.
In preparation for UNESCO’s recognition of the relics as the world cultural heritage, the Vietnamese side suggested that Japan coordinate with Vietnam in preserving the royal citadel.
