Nearly 200 businesses from China’s Guangdong province attended a seminar on opportunities within Vietnam-China agricultural cooperation that was held in the province on September 17.

The seminar, initiated by a visiting delegation of Vietnamese trade promotion officials and businesses from central Binh Thuan province was led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Diep Kinh Tan.

According to Minister Tan, the trade of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products between the two neigbouring countries has increased dramatically over the last decade.

Total agricultural trade turnover between Vietnam and China reached US$2 billion last year, including US$1.3 billion in exports from Vietnam.

Guangdong
province mainly exports refined sugar and salted bamboo sprouts to Vietnam and imports coffee, dried cassava, cassava starch and green dragon fruit.
