37 paintings by French painter Dominique De Miscault, depicting popular poems by Vietnamese poet Tran Dang Khoa, will be exhibited at the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France from March 17-Arpil 4.
Miscault, inspired by these poems which were translated into French by Michele Sullivan and Hoang Thi Phuong, focused on painting the northern Vietnamese villages.
Singer Alain Vu Hoang Mi will join the opening ceremony to recite Khoa’s poems both in Vietnamese and French.
Born in Vietnam in 1957 he has been living in France since 1978. Alian Vu, who can sing in soprano and baritone, has participated in organizing many beauty pageants and music festivals in France and Europe.
He returns to Vietnam every year to perform and offer scholarships to outstanding pupils.
